About Kris Holzmeyer

 

Kris Holzmeyer was born and raised in Southwest Indiana.

A graduate of Harrison High School in Evansville, Kris went on to attend the University of Southern Indiana where he majored in Communications and graduated with a degree in Public Relations. He graduated with his master's degree from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary in 2004.

He and his wife Missy have been married for 29 years and have two adult children.

The Holzmeyer’s have served in ministry in Indiana, Tennessee, and Washington, DC.

Kris became an Evansville Police Department chaplain in 2014. He is the author of “The First Responder Field Manual” - a pocket-sized devotional for LEO’s.  In 2019, Kris received the Leadership Evansville award for "Individual Achievement in Government and Public Service."

Kris comes from a law enforcement family with one relative who serves as a detective and another who served as a patrol sergeant.  He is accredited through the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA) and Nations of Coaches.

Kris is the Thin Blue 1st executive director and lead chaplain and assists multiple law enforcement agencies in Southwest Indiana.

Kris is also the chaplain for University of Evansville Men's Basketball.
